It’s interesting how situations repeat, no matter the industry. Whether outwardly empathetic or jerks, leaders want you to do what’s best for the organization and try to help you along the path to help you avoid the same mistakes they made. Yet, human nature is to skim a few books, chart a few graphs and assume theory will turn into fact. There are reasons why the military puts engineers in the field to try weapon systems they designed. Too often blueprints don’t translate well into hardware when human beings are on the receiving end. Talk until you’re blue in the face, all-knowing newbies still insist on learning hard lessons their own. Thus, the circle of life rolls on.
